Who's your favorite Two-Face? Is it the tortured schizophrenic of Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum comic, Batman Forever's uncommonly flamboyant Tommy Lee Jones, or Hush's doomed hero? Rocksteady has just unveiled its take on the character for October's Batman: Arkham City, presented in a none-too-subtle nod to one of the character's stronger influences: Clint Eastwood's maverick-cop classic, Dirty Harry

F.E.A.R. 3 Review

F.E.A.R. 3 Review

The F.E.A.R. series has always relied on two major factors as selling points: excellent enemy A.I. and plenty of "gotcha" scare moments. Neither of those show up much in F.E.A.R. 3. Instead, this F.E.A.R. is retooled to allow for cooperative gameplay across the full single-player campaign, and it sure looks pretty -- but it just isn't much for the scares anymore.

EA to 'retire' online support for Army of Two and 16 other games past their prime

EA to 'retire' online support for Army of Two and 16 other games past their prime

Army of Two, Skate, NHL 10 and Need for Speed Most Wanted are among a handful of EA games slated to become local co-op only over the next few months. The mega-publisher revealed it will be ending online support for seventeen of its older titles in order to redirect its talent and resources toward titles that are, you know, actually being played online.

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising Review

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising Review

The great Caesar Augustus -- namesake of our eighth month, and initiator of the Pax Romana -- once famously remarked that he found Rome in bricks and left her in marble. It's a statement that should have been particularly inspiring for the folks over at Heatwave, the development team that inherited this dusty relic of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game from Perpetual Entertainment early last year... but it's hard to shake the impression that Heatwave merely contented itself with applying some mortar to Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising's brittle framework. It's a shame, really; Gods & Heroes shows obvious affection for its ancient setting, its "estates" provide some semblance of player interaction with the world, and its minion system carries plenty of potential. As it stands, however, this incarnation of Rome feels anything but eternal.

Call of Duty Elite fees may drive loyal fans to Battlefield 3

Call of Duty Elite fees may drive loyal fans to Battlefield 3

Subscription fees for Activision's Call of Duty Elite social service could cause “loyal Call of Duty players to defect to [Battlefield 3],” says omniscient voice of the future and industry analyst Michael Pachter. However, EA's own attempt to establish a foothold in the digital distribution space with its online platform Origin looks to exclude Battlefield 3 from Steam, which can't be good for prospective sales. Is BF3 really going to be unavailable on Valve's platform?

Dragon Age II Legacy DLC dropping July 26

Dragon Age II Legacy DLC dropping July 26

BioWare is already hiring for Dragon Age III, but that doesn't mean the developer is finished crafting new content for the well-received Dragon Age II.

Today at the 2011 Electronic Arts Summer Showcase, the publisher officially announced Dragon Age II Legacy, the latest add-on for the fantasy role-playing game. The content will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac on July 26. A price for the content was not mentioned.

In the content, gamers will suit up again as protagonist Hawke and will travel to an ancient Grey Warden prison and uncover additional details about his family history. Additionally, Hawke will visit new environments, battle new and "improved" enemies, craft a deadly weapon, and ultimately come face-to-face with a terrible horror.

Hefty Fallout: New Vegas patch inbound

Hefty Fallout: New Vegas patch inbound

Although Obsidian Entertainment's Fallout: New Vegas was well received by critics when it launched last October, it received its lauds in spite of numerous and significant bugs and glitches. Since then, publisher Bethesda has brought a string of patches to the game, but apparently not everything is fixed just yet.

According to a post on the Bethesda Blog, a patch for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC iterations of Fallout: New Vegas will roll out across all systems between today and Thursday.

The patch will address a long list of "performance and stability" issues, and it adds a new save feature that automatically saves prior to the end of the game. This will allow single- save gamers to play all downloadable content without creating a new game save.

For a full list of changes and fixes coming to Fallout: New Vegas in the new patch, check out the post on the Bethesda Blog.

The patch comes just two weeks before Fallout: New Vegas welcomes its latest add-on content, Old World Blues, which arrives on July 19. The add-on sees gamers forced into partaking in a gruesome science experiment that also offers a closer look at the Mojave's mutated-monster contingent. Gamers will be presented with the option of battling the maniacal scientists or joining with them to fend off "an even greater threat."

The game will offer new opponents such as robotic radscorpions, as well as raise the game's level cap by five. Unlike other expansions, Old World Blues will let players keep their equipment.

E3 2011: Devil May Cry film based on new game

LOS ANGELES--Capcom has had a relatively muted presence at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, but it isn't outright absent. As part of this year's show, the publisher confirmed reports from earlier this year that it would collaborating with Sony Pictures' Screen Gems label on a live-action film adaptation for its Devil May Cry franchise.

According to this week's announcement, the film will be based on the new Devil May Cry. A reboot for the franchise, DMC is in development at Heavenly Sword studio Ninja Theory, and it is being positioned as an origin story for protagonist, Dante. DMC is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but Capcom has yet to offer a release window for the project.
As previously reported, the Devil May Cry film is being written by Kyle Ward, who has also done screenplays for Eidos' upcoming films Hitman 2 and Kane and Lynch.
Along with today's announcement, Capcom offered a sales update for the Devil May Cry franchise, saying the series has now sold more than 10 million units worldwide. The original installment was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2. It was followed by Devil May Cry 2 in 2003, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening in 2005, and Devil May Cry 4 in 2008.
